Karşılaşma // Öykü

Öğlenin kavurucu sıcağı yerini hafif hafif esen nazlı rüzgara bırakınca biz de kendimizi dışarı attık. Bir kafenin balkonunda oturup içeceklerimizi yudumlayarak hoşbeş ediyorduk. Kimimiz çayından, kahvesinden vazgeçmeyerek sıcak havaya meydan okuyordu, kimimiz ise belli ki sıcağa yenilmiş ancak kahvesinden de vazgeçememişti. Soğuk kahvelerini keyifle yudumluyorlardı. Ben ise ne içeceğime bir türlü karar veremediğimden kendimi bir sütlü tatlıyla avutuyordum. Tramvay caddeden zilini öttüre öttüre geçiyordu, sesi bizim şen kahkahalarımızla yarışabilecek kadar güçlü değildi. Ancak onun gürültüsüyle adeta yarışan ve bizim kahkahalarımıza tartışmasız bir şekilde galip gelen bir ses tüm bakışlarımızı kendine çekti.

Yolunu duygularını takip ederek bulan ben, kitap seçimi yaparken bile doğru zamanın gelmesini beklerim. Bazen elime rastgele geçen bir kitabı hemen büyük bir tutkuyla okuyabilirim. Bazen canım okumak istemez hiç. Okumam ben de, sessizce beklerim hislerimin bir işaret göndermesini. Bazense bir kitabı kafama koyar, ancak aylar sonra okuyabilirim. Bir kıvılcım beklerim yine adeta.

Uzun Beyaz Bulut Gelibolu'yu kafamdaki hayali okuma listesine ne zaman ekledim hatırlayamıyorum artık. Ancak, kitaba aç kaldığım bir zamanda karşıma ikinci el olarak çıkınca -kütüphaneden ödünç almayı daha önce planlamış olsam da- dayanamayıp aldım.

Büyükdedesinin savaşta ölmediğine ve Gelibolu'da kaldığına inanan Yeni Zelandalı genç bir kadının Gelibolu'ya gelmesiyle başlıyor roman. Yanındaki turist rehberiyle birlikte köy kahvesinde bir konuşma düzenlemek istese de işler umduğu gibi gitmiyor. Köylünün çok değerli Müslüman bir Türk kahramanı olarak kabul ettiği, sevip saydığı bir adama dünyanın öbür ucundan bir torun çıkması önce köyü sonra tüm ülkeyi karıştıyor ve haliyle böyle onurlu, dini bütün bir adama öyle bir iftira isnat edilmesinden hoşlanmıyorlar. Ne ki bu kadın büyükdedesi olduğuna inandığı adamın hayatta kalan yakınlarından Beyaz Hala'yla görüşmeyi başarır. Kendini evine kapatan, belli kişiler dışında kimseyle görüşmeyen, köyeküsmüş, inatçı Beyaz Hala bu kadını evine alıyor ve mektuplar ortaya çıkıyor.

Bu romanı iki kısma ayırıyorum ben. İlki Victoria Taylor'ın köye gelişi ve Beyaz Hala'yla mektupların karşılıklı okunması. İkinci kısımda ise Beyaz Hala ile Viki'nin karakterlerinin, geçmişlerinin incelenmesi ve en önemlisi de gerçeğin yavaş yavaş ortaya çıkması. Aslında eserin esas kahramanları Victoria ile Beyaz Hala denilebilir. Hatta tek başına Beyaz Hala bile denilebilir! Gerçek bir hikayeye değil de kurguya dayanan bu roman sadece güzel bir tarihi roman olarak görülmemeli bence. Olaylar günümüzde geçiyor ve Alistair John Taylor'ın hikayesi aslında arka planda işleniyor. Ayrıca Beyaz Hala öyle ilginç bir karakter ki onu çözümlemek öyle kolay olmuyor. Oysa daha ilk sayfalardayken anlıyorsunuz gerçekte kimin kim olduğunu. Ben ilk başta "Bu kitap niye bu kadar uzun ki, her şey ayan beyan ortada işte." diye düşünmüştüm. Fakat esas heyecan kitabın ikinci kısmındaymış ve verilmek istenen başka mesajlar da varmış. Sonlara doğru ise yeniden kısırlaşıyor kurgu.

Genç Bir Doktorun Anıları - Mihail Bulgakov // Kitap Yorumu

Not:  Yazarken düşüncelerimi rahatça ortaya koyabilmek için, yazımı okuyacak kişilerin eseri henüz okumamış olma ihtimalini göz önüne almıyorum. SPOILER İÇEREBİLİR.

Kitapçıda öylesine dolanırken elime geçmişti bu eser. Konusu ilginç olabilir diye ve fiyatı da uygun olduğu için satın almıştım. Eserin işlendiği zaman ve mekan da ilgimi çekmişti. Okuduğum kitaplar genellikle Türk, İngiliz ve Amerikalı yazarların eserleri ancak bu eserin yazarı bir Rus. Zaman zaman sınırları aşmak ve farklı kültürlere ait eserleri de tanımak gerek diye düşünüyorum. Yanılmamışım! Kitabı okurken Rusça isimleri okumakta epey zorlandım. Rus edebiyatına da bir göz atmam gerekiyor anlaşılan. 

Kitabın konusu adından anlaşıldığı üzere gayet açık. Büyükşehirde büyümüş, Tıp fakültesinden başarıyla mezun olmuş, gencecik ve hiçbir tecrübesi olmayan bir doktor ücra bir yere tayin olur. Onun endişeleri, korkuları, deneyimleri, cehalet karşısında yaşadıkları, tipi ve zorlu hava koşullarına karşı mücadelesi yine doktorun kendi diliyle anlatılmış. Doktorun iç dünyası öyle etkileyici bir şekilde dile getirilmiş ki bir ara "Duyguların böyle mükemmel bir şekilde ifade edilmesi nasıl mümkün olur?" diye düşünmeden edemedim. Oluyormuş demek. 

Stolz und Vorurteil - Jane Austen

Jane Austens Stil ist echt interessant. Während ich einen Roman von ihr lese, fühle ich so dass, sie nur die Namen und manche Kleinigkeiten veränderte und dann alles, was um sie passierte, gleich schrieb. Aber danach wird alles wie ein schönes Märchen. Denn sie hat ihre Werke immer mit solchen glücklichen Enden, die geradezu zeigt, dass das Werk eigentlich nur eine Fiktion ist, abgeschlossen. Vielleicht war sie eine sehr gute Beobachterin.

Stolz und Vorurteil ist bestimmt ein von ihren geliebten Werken und die Heldin des Romanes ist auch eine von ihren meist hinreißenden Personen. Ihre Zukunft ist nicht sicher, sie hat kein Geld und keine bedeutende Verwandten. Sie ist dennoch so selbstbewußt und gesinnungstreu; dass man, wenn man das Zeitalter beachtet, sie überhaupt anerkennt.

Der Roman beginnt mit einem ziemlich beachtenswerten Satz, welcher alles zusammenfasst. Ein großes Haus, das in der Nähe von der Bennet-Familie steht, wird von einem wohlhabenden, jungen und ledigen Mann gemietet. Das bewegt die Mutter Mrs Bennet dazu, ihren Mann zum Besuch zu überreden. Mrs Bennet ist total unausstehlich. Sie unternimmt Anstrengungen um eine von ihren Töchter mit dem reichen Mr Bingley zu verheiraten, damit die Bennet-Familie ihre Zukunft garantiert wird. Mrs Bennets ganzes Ziel im Leben ist die guten Heiraten ihre fünf Töchter. Sie spricht viel und ist immer besorgt. Sie bringt ständig einen auf die Palme. Doch darf man sich nie über sie ärgern, weil sie keinen Sohn und vielleicht auch kein Haus in der Zukunft hat.

Der Vater Mr Bennet ist dagegen ein sehr ruhiger Mann. Er ist auch vernünftig und witzig. Eine von den Mädchen ist sehr zart. Sie zeigt ihre Gefühle nicht. Das sieht zuerst schön aus aber veranlasst sie unbewußt zum Leiden. Die andere ist ziemlich unbändig. Eigentlich sind alle Mädchen anders.

Romane haben Nebenpersonen, denen man zuerst keine Bedeutung beimisst. Aber eigentlich manche von denen sind echt bedeutend. Ich denke, Charlotte Lucas ist ein gutes Beispiel dafür. Sie ist die Tochter vom Nachbarn und älter als Bennetsmädchen. Obwohl sie die Liebe suchen, heiratet Charlotte einen Mann, der ihre Zukunft garantieren kann. Unglücklich brauchen manche Frauen eben heute solche Eheschließungen um wohl zu leben können.

Stolz und Vorurteil scheint erstens nur ein schönes Liebesmärchen zu sein. Aber wenn man darüber gut nachdenkt, bemerkt man viele interessanten Details. Zum Beispiel gibt es im Roman keine vielen Dialogen zwischen das Paar. Es geht mehr um die Ereignisse von der Bennet-Familie. Es handelt sich in der Tat um den "Stolz" und das "Vorurteil." Wir können im Roman klar sehen, wie Stolz zum Vorurteil Anlaß gibt und wie die Liebe das beseitigen kann.

Ich denke, dass im Roman "Stolz" und "Vorurteil" gut behandelt wurden. Eben Mrs Bennet hat gegen Mr Darcy Vorurteile, der mehr Vermögen als Mr Bingley hat. Und nicht nur die Reichen sind stolz, sondern auch sind die Armen.

Michel : die Kirche, die die Händler empfängt

***Dieses Essay wurde zuerst auf Englisch (Michel : The Church which welcomes traders) als nur eine Hausaufgabe (Beschreibungsessay) geschrieben. Ich wollte es selbst ins Deutsche übersetzen. Ich bin noch nie in Hamburg geblieben. Das Foto ist von Pixabay. ***

Ungeachtet des Glaubens, die großartigsten Gebäude in der ganzen Welt sind unzweifelhaft die, die nach geistlichen Zielen gebaut worden sind. Die größten Gebetsplätze sind überall in der Geschichte immer die Wahrzeichen der Gebiete. Wenn Hamburg in Betracht kommt, tritt Sankt Michaelis (ugs. Michel) heraus.

Die lutheranische Kirche kann man vom Hafen Hamburg gut sehen. Sie befindet sich so nah, dass man fühlt, wie sie die Händler empfängt. Das ist doch kein warmer Empfang. Denn ihr Turm erhebt sich genauso wie ein seriöser Hüter. Der 132-Meter-hoche, würdige und die Schiffe, die auf dem Fluss Elbe segeln, orientierende Kirchturm beherrscht den Hafen und den Horizont von Hamburg. Er bietet trotzdem einen herrlichen Blick des Hafens und der Stadt, welchen man sofort annehmen soll.

Wenn Sie den Haupt-Eingang betreten, begrüßt Sie eine atemraubende Statue von oben. Das ist der über den Teufel siegender Erzengel Michaelis, deshalb wird die Statue der Sieg über den Teufel genannt. Der Devil, der Flügel wie eine Fledermaus hat, ist unter Sankt Michaeliss Füße dargestellt. Mit einem Speer in der rechten Hand, steht der Erzengel bereit ihn zu töten. Beide sind Männer dargestellt und scheinen sehr starke Körper zu haben.

Anders als die meisten Kirchen ist es ziemlich hell innen von Sankt Michaelis. Die großen Fenster erlaubt dem Tageslicht reinzukommen und die Kirche zu erhellen. Dank der weißen Wände und der Eleganz der Schlichtheit fühlt man sich dort friedlich. In der Mitter des Bauwerks können Sie die Barockstilkanzel und den Engel der Verkündigung auf dem breiten Dach sehen. Die Kanzel hat auch eine wundersame satte Treppe.

Vielleicht gibt es Vieles zu machen, wenn Sie Hamburg besuchen. Aber wenn Sie ohne ein Auge auf diese großartige Kirche zu werfen zurückkehren, Sie werden bestimmt Vieles verlieren. Michel ist mehr als eine Sehenswürdigkeit. 

Michel : The Church Which Welcomes Traders

Regardless of faith the most splendid buildings all over the world are undoubtedly the ones which were built for religious purposes. Throughout history, the greatest places of worships have always been the landmarks of every single region. When it comes to Hamburg, St. Michael’s Church (colloquially called Michel) rises to prominence.

  The Lutheran church can be easily seen from the Port of Hamburg. It’s located so close that feels the church welcomes the traders. This is not a very warm welcome, though. Because its tower stands upright just like a serious guardian. This 132-meter-high, dignified and marking orientation to ships sailing on the river Elbe steeple dominates the harbour and the skyline of Hamburg. Still, it offers a fabulous view of the port and the city, which should be accepted at once.

  When you come to the main entrance, a breathtaking sculpture above will greet you. It’s the archangel Michael defeating the devil, so the sculpture is called St.Michael’s Victory over the Devil. The bat-winged devil is shown under St. Michael’s feet. Grasping a spear in his right hand, the archangel is about to kill him. Both of the angel and the devil are represented as men and both seem to have very strong bodies.

  Unlike many other churches, inside of St. Michael’s it’s very bright. The huge windows enable the daylight come into the church and lighten. Owing to the white walls and the elegancy of plainness, it feels peaceful there. In the center of the building, you can see the baroque pulpit and on its large roof the Angel of Annunciation. The pulpit also features a wondrous dark-coloured staircase.

  There may be lots of interesting things to do when you visit Hamburg. But when you return home without setting eyes on this splendid church, you will definitely miss a lot. Michel is more than worthing of a visit.

Aşk ve Gurur ya da Gurur ve Önyargı // Kitap Yorumu

Jane Austen'ın eserlerini "kurgu olduğunu belli edercesine" inatla mutlu sonla bitirmesini yer yer masalsı ve gerçekdışı bulsam da okurken sanki Jane Austen hiçbir değişiklik yapmadan sadece isimleri ve birkaç detayı değiştirip her şeyi olduğu haliyle yazmış gibi hissediyorum. Belki de o iyi bir romancıdan ziyade iyi bir gözlemciydi. Galiba ben onun bu yönünü çok seviyorum.

Pride and Prejudice ise Austen'ın en sevilen eserlerinden, Elizabeth Bennet de en çok etki uyandıran karakterlerinden. Onun maddi hiçbir şeye sahip olmamasına ve güçlü bağlantıları/akrabaları bulunmamasına rağmen kişilik sahibi dik duruşu dönemin şartları da düşünüldüğünde elbette takdire şayan.

Roman adeta her şeyi özetleyen hayli çarpıcı bir cümleyle başlıyor. Bennet ailesinin yakınlarındaki bir malikanenin halivakti yerinde, genç, bekar Mr. Bingley tarafından kiralanması kafasını kızlarına zengin bir kısmet bulmakla bozmuş olan anne Mrs. Bennet'i harekete geçirir ve baba Mr. Bennet'i onu ziyarete gitmeye ikna etmeye çalışır. Mrs. Bennet ömür törpüsü gibi bir kadın ancak yine de içinde bulundukları durum göz önüne alındığında ona hak vermemek mümkün değil. Baba Mr. Bennet ise kendi halinde, aklı başında, kabullenmiş ve biraz da muzip bir adam.

Elizabeth'in naif, duygularını kendi içinde yaşayan ablası Jane de ilgi uyandıran bir diğer karakter. Onun, duygularını kendi içinde yaşaması iyi bir şey gibi gözükse de acı çekmesine sebep olur. Elizabeth'in kendinden küçük üç kız kardeşi daha vardır.

Kitaplarda ana kahramanların etrafında bir şekilde görülen, üzerinde fazla durulmayan fakat okuyucuların kesinlikle önemsemesi gerektiği yan karakterler vardır. Elizabeth'ten yaşça büyük olan arkadaşı Charlotte Lucas da bunlardan biridir benim gözümde. Elizabeth'in ne olursa olsun aşkı arayan haline karşın o kendini güvence altına alacak bir evliliği seçer. Bir anlamda mantık evliliği yapan bu kadın bence gayet gerçekçi davranışlar sergiler. Bugün bile birçok kadın böyle evlilikler yapmak zorunda kalır. Ailesinden anlamlı bir miras elde edemeyecek ve mesleği/eğitimi iyi bir iş bulup rahat bir şekilde geçinmesine el veremeyecek olan günümüz kadınları da onunki gibi bir durumda aynen onun yaptığı gibi yapabilir.

Yüzeysel olarak bakıldığında masalsı bir aşk hikayesine benzeyen bu eser, üzerinde düşünüldüğünde birçok ince ayrıntı farkedilicektir. O nedenle eseri hafife almak bence yazarına haksızlık olur. Zira çiftin birlikte göründüğü ve karşılıklı konuştuğu sahneler aslında oldukça az. Elizabeth'in ailesi içinde ve çevresinde gelişen olaylar önplanda, hikaye bunun üzerine inşa edilmiş. Eserde Elizabeth Bennet ve Mr. Darcy karakterleri aracılığıyla gurur ve önyargı kavramlarının daha doğrusu gururdan kaynaklanan önyargının işlendiğini ve bunların nasıl aşk sayesinde kırılabileceğinin gösterildiğini söyleyebiliriz.

Birçok güzide eser gibi bu eserin de dizi ve film uyarlamaları yapılmış. 1995 yapımı bir minidizi ve 2005 yılında çekilen bir film. Kitaba uygunluk bakımından minidizi mükemmel. Neredeyse her şey kitaptaki gibi ekrana yansıtılmış fakat film öyle değil. Yine de olayların fazla saptırılmadığını ve fena bir uyarlama olmadığını söyleyebilirim. Müzikleri ise şahane.

Tüm bunların yanında anlayamadığım bir şey var. Özgün adı Gurur ve Önyargı olan bu roman ülkemizde çoğu yayınevi tarafından Aşk ve Gurur adıyla yayımlanmış. Ben de bir zamanlar bu iki çevirinin de farklı eserlere ait olup farklı konulara değindiğini sanırdım. Kütüphanede elime Türkiye İş Bankası Yayınları'nın çevirisi geçti ve farkında olmadan bu kitabı adına yaraşır şekliyle okuyabildiğim için kendimi şanslı sayıyorum. Çünkü ben okurken sık sık gurur ve önyargı kavramları üzerine düşünmüştüm. Hangi karakterin neyi temsil ettiğini anlamaya çalışmıştım. Bağlantılar kurarken bu ikisi hep aklımdaydı. Gurur ve önyargının nasıl içiçe geçtiğini görmüştüm.

Eğer Aşk ve Gurur ismiyle bu kitabı okusaydım sanırım önyargı kavramı aklıma bile gelmeyecekti ve ben maalesef çoğu detayı kaçırmış olacaktım. Çünkü "Aşk ve Gurur" dendiğinde aklıma gururu ve aşkı arasında kalan insan(lar) geliyor. Bu isim belki çok uç bir çeviri sayılmaz ama ben yine de -roman bir aşk romanı olsa bile- bu ismin tüm romanı temsil etmediğini düşünüyorum. Yalnızca Mr. Darcy karakteri için uygun görünüyor bu isim. Oysa romanın baş kahramanı Elizabeth Bennet'tir ve Mrs. Bennet bile Mr. Darcy'e karşı servet sahibi olmasına rağmen önyargılıdır.

Çeviri işi zor iş, kabul ediyorum. Zorluğun daha başlıkta başladığını da biliyorum. Bazen hedef dilde o sözcüğün karşılığı olmaz bazen de olsa bile kültür ve anlayış farkından dolayı o sözcüklerin etrafında toplanan çağrışımlar kafakarıştırıcı olur. İki dilin yapısal farklılıklarından da kaynaklanabilir bazen sorunlar.

Karlar Ülkesi filmini hatırlayın. Orijinal adı Frozen olan bu filmi Türkçe'ye "Donmuş" olarak çevirmek sanırım nahoş olurdu. Bana kalırsa kimse o adı duyunca filmin bir animasyon çocuk filmi olduğunu düşünemezdi. "Karlar Ülkesi" olarak çevirmek bu durumda gayet başarılı bir iş olmuş.

Pride and Prejudice'e dönecek olursak, buradaki sorun böyle değil. Aslında burada bir sorun da yok. Dilimiz Pride and Prejudice'deki kadar ahenkli olmasa da orijinal adına uygun şekilde çevirmeye müsait. Eserin sahibi bile başlıkta aşka vurgu yapmamışken ve "önyargı" eserde bu kadar güzel işlenmişken nasıl olur da aşk için prejudice'den vazgeçilir?

Bir de şuna inanıyorum; yazarların söylemek istedikleri şeyler vardır ve hiçbir yazar eserine rastgele bir isim vermez.

What type is you ? (Wanna find the Balance! )

City life or village life? It’s one of the most common questions which is asked to recognize what type a person is. Most of the time people choose one of them and explain why. They are actually expected to do so.

However, when I meet with such a question I always get confused. I was born and have grown up in a big city, I have tasted its opportunities and can never do without them. Knowing that there are big hospitals, schools, shopping malls and many cultural events make me feel comfortable. Indeed, the feeling that you can reach whatever you want and need whenever necessary is great.

Living in a big city is a big advantage. There are far more job opportunities than a rural area. Shops have more variety and usually the products there are more qualified. In addiction to this, those shops campaign frequently due to commercial competition. You can easily get journals and books you wanna read and mobile phones get signal stronger.

The neighbour provinces don’t have as many inhabitants as the one in which I live. So they don’t have extensive hospitals, either. When they need, they come to my city. It’s quite costly to them as I take only public bus and don’t pay for a hotel room. But I’m not sure if it is really a heaven-sent profit. Because a bus ride take about one hour, which is enough to tire me and you have to estimate everything beforehand to get on time. The ride, the possible missing, accidents, the rainy weather. When you take your own car, then comes parking place problem. And traffic jam is a growing problem in big cities.

People say that there were lots of cultural events in big cities. Concerts, cinema, public lectures, theatre and exhibitions. They are right, I cannot deny it. But I see those people either working or on the way to work or resting at home. Or they go to shopping malls. Even enjoying cost money in big cities. Even enjoying tires and stresses.

On the other hand, when I somehow fall with nature, I become relieved. I witnessed sunrise which I couldn’t do on an area surrounded by high-rise buildings. The Sun rises slowly behind enormous mountains; the colour changes, firstly orange then yellow. It’s an incredible view that no movie, no visual effect and no camera can bestow me. It’s an inutterable feeling when you wander in nature. The blue sky, the white cottonlike clouds and everything green.

For thousands of years people, meanly our ancestors, lived in the nature. They were a part of it. Nature, animals and we were created by the same God but cities are human-made. This may be the reasons why nature feels us peaceful. But today our people are in dilemma since they have grown up in big cities. Their souls pine for nature and a simple life, they can never give up what city life offers to them, though. They have, moreover, no village experience. Their survival is no longer bound to industry and money. The meaning of ingenuity has already changed.

Our people saw fruits and vegetables at supermarkts or on bazaars. They can see there only a few cultivars of a fruit but many more cultivars of a fruit (or vegetable) exist. Their tastes, colours and shapes differ. But some cultivars look nicer, are more fertile and more convenient to transport. For economical concerns those kinds are produced and sold. But in nature the meaning of fertility is different.

Many of us think today that they can’t do without internet, especially social media. We are addicted to things we don’t need to at heart. Although when I am in village and have weak internet, I don’t feel myself stressed. I rather weight off my mind. It’s interesting as I spend most of my free time surfing. Therefore I think we have actually nothing to do with social media and surfing. We do it as we have nothing important or pleasing to do. When I have, I never even wonder what’s going on at Instagram. Surfing and social media is the easiest way to fill spare time. So long as we find better ways to please and relax ourselves, we won’t need to social media. We surf when we need to rest our heads but actually we stuff our minds with unnecessary things; what others do, what others buy, how others decorate their houses, what others eat and so on... When I surf to rest, then I feel myself more tired and need to another rest as my mind becomes full. However I must admit that having strong internet signal is sometimes vital. Unfortunately I haven’t found the balance, yet.

I follow some people at Instagram. They chose a simple and natural life and moved to rural areas. They grow their own food, they reject to take medicine and see doctors. They build their own houses with natural materials and choose unschooling for their children. They produce their own natural cleaning materials. Indispensable white goods are dispensable for them. They have found ways not to be choked by industry.

I envy them and want to live such a simple and stress-free life one day. I don’t like those ordinary working hours and don’t want my children to grow up with babysitters and to go to nursery at 3 years. I think nature itself is a great exhibiton and learning field.

Still, I cannot find the courage in me, yet. I just observe now and take it easy. I’m used to buy everything and not good at handicraft. Even though education system is harshly criticised, I always managed it. I’m not against having schools and an education system. Conditions depend person to person and place to place. I see that people are interested in what is different. I grew up in a big city and take interest in village life. But I saw some villagers who long for a city life. I don’t like all-or-nothing manner, rather want to find the balance and live where city life and village life are in one another.

I also know the fact; nature isn’t always blue, green and serene. It’s the essence of rivalry, battle, strength and authority, as well. Nature forces human being! Maybe it’s the reason why we move ourselves away from the hardship of nature to the comfort of city.
